System Unit

The System Unit is the main part of a computer. There are many different electronical parts in the system unit that process information. The most important one is the central processing unit (CPU). Another part is the random access memory (RAM), which temporarily stores information while the computer is on. Other parts are the motherboard, cooling fans, memory modules, and disk drives.

The Modem

The Modem is the part of a computer that connects the computer to the internet. The modem sends and receives information of the computer over a high-speed cable or telephone line. With higher speed modems they are usually seperate from the computer and plugged in but sometimes the modem is built into the computer.

The Printer

A printer is a device that makes a hard copy of the documents on your computer. Most printers are attached to the computer by a printer caple, but for newer computers it is attached through a USB cable which is used for a document source. The two main types of printers are inkjet printers and laser printers.
